Looking to free up some space?
Maybe your keen on doing away with that old hot water cylinder that's taking up all the room in your airing cupboard & having a combination boiler fitted in place of your old system boiler? After all space is a precious thing & so freeing up the airing cupboard would give you lot's more room for storage? Combination boilers aren't suitable for every property though as certain factors like how strong your mains pressure is & how high up your property is? But these are all things that would get checked & discussed when conducting the free quote.
Choosing The Best Option
If you have a family & require lot's of hot water for all the baths & showers that are needed whilst at the same time the dishwasher, washing machine & kitchen sink are all being used then a combination boiler may not be the right boiler for you. It might be better to have a system boiler with a hot water cylinder providing you with stored hot water at a steady rate & fixed temperature so that you don't get cold water in the shower when someone turns on the tap downstairs!
Getting What's Right For You
Often in old gravity fed systems the flow of hot & cold water is very poor so that it might take forever to fill a bath or it may only dribble from the shower head? If this is the case it may be possible to install a pump so that you get a good strong flow of water to the bath & shower. Even better still we could do away with the old copper hot water cylinder & install an unvented mains pressured cylinder in its place which would give you mains pressure hot & cold water to all your taps. This also does away with the need for that big old cold water storage tank in the loft which could be removed freeing up lot's more space.
